Gambrel Roof Pole Building

Overview

gambrel roof pole building : Overview
Gambrel roof pole buildings are metal shelter structures constructed of modular panels, typically steel or aluminum, that are screwed together. The gambrel roof pole building is popular for its classic barn aesthetic as well as for the sense of spaciousness that the expanded roof line provides.

The Gambrel Roof

The gambrel roof looks like a hybrid between a hip roof and a gable roof with added joints. Popular because of its efficient use of space, the gambrel roof is a popular architectural form in country building in many places around the world.

Pole Buildings

Also known as pole barns, pole buildings are metal buildings, usually made of steel or aluminum modular panels and assembled on site. When of a scale larger than a tool shed, they are typically built on top of a poured concrete slab foundation. The roomy gambrel roof provides space for a second floor or hay loft in most of these structures.

Uses

Metal pole buildings with a gambrel roof are often used as agricultural buildings, barns, animal living quarters, vehicle and equipment garaging, storage, light industrial work spaces and occasionally living residences. The space and height clearance provided by the gambrel style roof make it an easily accessible storage space for large equipment and vehicles such as RVs.

Build Out

Gambrel roof pole buildings can be built from scratch or from one of the many manufacturers and retailers that sell preselected and customized pole building and pole barn kits. They can be assembled by a pair of experienced DIYers or by a professional installation team.

Cost

Depending on the size of the pole building, they can be built quite large, the cost can range from a few hundred dollars for a mid-size toolshed to $20,000 for large and richly featured design models.
