Vanessa
The tale of my path with Vanessa continues. For those of you that remember hearing about my previous horse show you know that it didn’t go well and that my horse Vanessa and I, had multiple refusals and I suspected her ulcer was to blame.

Having come up with a better ulcer treatment plan I was hopeful that this show would be better. However, the show again began with us being eliminated from the jumper ring after Vanessa, in a very bratty way, refused again. The difference is, this time she was jumping well, felt great and proceeded to go back into the warmup ring and jump 3’9” with no problem. I knew the problem was mental and decided I would need to be more aggressive in my attempt the next day.

Success! The next day was much better and I believe we are now on our way to being able to progress and move up to competing at the next level.

I've been seriously involved with horses my entire life and have ridden with many locally and nationally known horse professionals. I've also worked as a working student for hunter/jumper trainers Tammy Provost-Vitello and Wendy Newby, primarily as a rider and instructor. I've worked extensively with event, jumper and dressage trainer Jerry Schurink.

My love for horses is genuine and my desire to share that passion with others is the chief reason I'm working on this site. Be sure to check out my blog for more about my experiences with horses as well as my videos here on the site.
