Ulcer Trouble
For the past two months I’ve been treating my horse Vanessa’s ulcer problem. While the treatment has been making her feel much better overall, the increased stress that being at a horse show brings brought out the original symptoms again this week. For Vanessa the most extreme symptom of the ulcer hurting is that she starts refusing jumps and this time it was unfortunately in the jumper ring at a horse show.

As frustrating as this is, I know that this is just part of getting to know my horse and how to manage her health issues. Next show I’ll know to increase her dose much more in order to ensure that she feels good through the whole week.

Still learning.
