Practice makes perfect
It takes a lot of practice to become comfortable in the show ring. Inevitably, when you step into the show ring with people watching and critiquing you, the pressure will affect your riding in some way. The way this pressure affects people is different for each person but usually results in nervousness of some degree.

To help my students become comfortable with showing, I began a very casual monthly show at our barn. No show clothes and no strict rules. The shows are simply a chance to get into the ring knowing that there are people watching and practice your riding skills.

This is a great way to get some showing miles at a minimum price and has been so easy to organize that I’m positive anyone could do it at their own barn.

Site Manager - Mara Hi, I'm Mara. I hold several equine business related degrees and have earned numerous national awards for riding. I've been seriously involved with horses my entire life and have ridden with many locally and nationally known horse professionals. I've also worked as a working student for hunter/jumper trainers Tammy Provost-Vitello and Wendy Newby, primarily as a rider and instructor. I've worked extensively with event, jumper and dressage trainer Jerry Schurink.

My love for horses is genuine and my desire to share that passion with others is the chief reason I'm working on this site. Be sure to check out my blog for more about my experiences with horses as well as my videos here on the site.
