Performance Horse Care
When you are competing and working your horse regularly, and jumping a lot it is important to take excellent care of your horse to insure soundness and longevity. Jumping puts a lot of strain on your horse’s legs, which is why every time I jump I use liniment and then wrap all four of my horse’s legs. If you have done a particularly strenuous workout you might also consider using poultice on your horse’s legs and then wrapping them.

Horse shows often mean a lot of pounding on your horse’s feet, often on hard surfaces, which can lead to foot soreness. Using a hoof packing product can help to alleviate foot soreness and keep your horse feeling its best throughout the duration of a multi day horse show.

These are just a few ways to help keep your horse healthy, talking to your trainer and/or veterinarian can help you come up with more ideas.

Site Manager - Mara Hi, I'm Mara. I hold several equine business related degrees and have earned numerous national awards for riding. I've been seriously involved with horses my entire life and have ridden with many locally and nationally known horse professionals. I've also worked as a working student for hunter/jumper trainers Tammy Provost-Vitello and Wendy Newby, primarily as a rider and instructor. I've worked extensively with event, jumper and dressage trainer Jerry Schurink.

My love for horses is genuine and my desire to share that passion with others is the chief reason I'm working on this site. Be sure to check out my blog for more about my experiences with horses as well as my videos here on the site.
