Horse Shows

blog post photo

As the warm weather spreads and inspires, it is time to plan my summer show schedule. In choosing which horse shows to attend I keep a few things in mind. First of all, I need to choose horse shows that offer an adequate number of jumper classes as that is what I’m actively competing in. Second, which shows are my students interested in participating in. Thirdly, location, the shows can’t be too far away as I can’t be gone for more then a week right now because of my teaching schedule at home. And lastly, I try t choose a number of shows that fit my budget but also allow me to achieve my goals.

This summer, I plan on attending 3-4 large rated shows as well as bring students to two smaller and more local rated shows. I’ll also most likely bring students that don’t have their own horses but use our school horses, to a few local schooling shows.

Happy Showing!

Site Manager - Mara Hi, I'm Mara. I hold several equine business related degrees and have earned numerous national awards for riding. I've been seriously involved with horses my entire life and have ridden with many locally and nationally known horse professionals. I've also worked as a working student for hunter/jumper trainers Tammy Provost-Vitello and Wendy Newby, primarily as a rider and instructor. I've worked extensively with event, jumper and dressage trainer Jerry Schurink.

My love for horses is genuine and my desire to share that passion with others is the chief reason I'm working on this site. Be sure to check out my blog for more about my experiences with horses as well as my videos here on the site.
