Horse Show

blog post photo

Yesterday I brought four of my students to a schooling horse show at Mount Holyoke College with four of my school horses.  Three of them rode in the walk trot division and one rode in the long stirrup division.

The walk trot division was huge with at least 12 riders which meant that my students need to steer really well. They did wonderfully! And one of the girls ended up reserve champion for the division.

The long stirrup division was small which was nice as the school horse in the division doesn’t have a lot of showing experience and was a bit nervous in the ring. The rider handled him very well and did a great job of keeping him relaxed and controlled in both the jumping and flat classes.

Nice job riders!

Site Manager - Mara Hi, I'm Mara. I hold several equine business related degrees and have earned numerous national awards for riding. I've been seriously involved with horses my entire life and have ridden with many locally and nationally known horse professionals. I've also worked as a working student for hunter/jumper trainers Tammy Provost-Vitello and Wendy Newby, primarily as a rider and instructor. I've worked extensively with event, jumper and dressage trainer Jerry Schurink.

My love for horses is genuine and my desire to share that passion with others is the chief reason I'm working on this site. Be sure to check out my blog for more about my experiences with horses as well as my videos here on the site.
