Equitation
As the semester gets going for my college, high school and middle school equitation teams our lessons focus more and more on preparing for the first shows. We work on strengthening their positions, confidence, skills and the details that help them to be successful in the show ring.

As many students don’t get as much riding in over the summer, we spend some part of every lesson riding without stirrups to improve balance, strength and position. For those students that ride over fences we begin working on complex courses that require students to make decisions and adjustments while maintaining very sharp and correct position.

The goal is to have students feel ready and positive by the time they enter the show ring.

Site Manager - Mara Hi, I'm Mara. I hold several equine business related degrees and have earned numerous national awards for riding. I've been seriously involved with horses my entire life and have ridden with many locally and nationally known horse professionals. I've also worked as a working student for hunter/jumper trainers Tammy Provost-Vitello and Wendy Newby, primarily as a rider and instructor. I've worked extensively with event, jumper and dressage trainer Jerry Schurink.

My love for horses is genuine and my desire to share that passion with others is the chief reason I'm working on this site. Be sure to check out my blog for more about my experiences with horses as well as my videos here on the site.
