Equine Dentistry
The Equine Dentist was at our farm today which made me think about how often dental health in horses is overlooked. The spring is a great time to have a qualified equine dentist or your veterinarian check your horse’s teeth. Regular checks are important because without maintenance your horse can develop painful and even severe problems with their teeth that can cause general health issues and greatly affect their riding performance.

When riding some signs of your horse having tooth trouble can include, tossing their head, rooting, not wanting to go on the bit, fear of the bit, pulling and more. Other signs that can occur not under saddle are dropping grain, balling hay and loss of weight.

To insure proper care of your horse’s mouth have someone check at least once a year, your horse will be happier!
