Like any business person, I’m always thinking about ways to get the Sycamore Stables name out there and known in the area. Even though you don’t usually think of riding stables as technology savvy businesses I’m trying to make our barn different.

We’ve had a facebook group and a website for a while now but I’ve realized that I haven’t made keeping these things updated a priority and they could be a much more effective tool if I did. Recently I added Sycamore Stables as a Twitter group as another way to stay active in an internet centered world.

When one thinks about what running a riding stable would entail I don’t think all the emailing, website making, facebook and twitter updating would even be thought of. But the fact is that in a changing world it is important to stay current in order to remain a viable and visible business.

Site Manager - Mara Hi, I'm Mara. I hold several equine business related degrees and have earned numerous national awards for riding. I've been seriously involved with horses my entire life and have ridden with many locally and nationally known horse professionals. I've also worked as a working student for hunter/jumper trainers Tammy Provost-Vitello and Wendy Newby, primarily as a rider and instructor. I've worked extensively with event, jumper and dressage trainer Jerry Schurink.

My love for horses is genuine and my desire to share that passion with others is the chief reason I'm working on this site. Be sure to check out my blog for more about my experiences with horses as well as my videos here on the site.
